Unstoppable why rated pg 13

Will and his wife kiss and embrace. Language includes words like "s--t," "bitch," "ass," "a--hole," "py," "hell," "damn," "oh my God," "goddamn," and one use of "f--k," plus insults like "idiot," "stupid," and the like.

A character is shown smoking cigarettes; waitresses serve drinks, but no one really really drinks in the movie. There's definitely lots of suspense -- and plenty of nailbiting scenes -- but there's no blood or weapons violence.

A train explosion does kill one conductor, the runaway train nearly collides with a horse, and the main characters get injured and bruised. Language includes "s--t" and "ass," and prominent brands include Hooters and Ford.

There's not too much sexual content -- a kiss, a couple of embraces, and a shot of the Hooters waitresses. Washington's wise, brave character is a good example of an older character who still has lots of expertise and experience to contribute; he and Chris Pine 's character demonstrate strong teamwork skills.

On his first day of work, newbie railway company employee Will Chris Pine is teamed with seasoned engineer Frank Denzel Washington. While they're out picking up a cargo shipment, another rail worker Ethan Suplee ditches a heavy train full of combustible material, causing it to go at full speed without anyone on board to man it.

The responsible train yard supervisor, Connie Rosario Dawson , attempts to work with her greedy corporate manager Kevin Dunn to come up with a solution to stop the train before it hits any other trains or reaches a dangerous above-ground curve that will definitely derail it. Since Will and Frank are on the same track as the runaway train, they start working on a plan to slow it -- but there's no room for error, or an entire Pennsylvania town could be decimated.

This isn't one of those action movies people will be talking about in 10 years, but it's a decent nail-biter with exceptional actors. This is director Tony Scott 's fifth collaboration with Washington, so at this point, we know what to expect when the two work together: explosions, intense action sequences, and Washington chewing up the scenery.

As Washington ages his character here is being forced to retire , it only makes sense that their films should mellow a bit too, and it works. At first Washington and Pine seem to have no real chemistry, but as the movie lurches forward and the dramatic tension is set up, they start to play off each other well. And it's always a pleasure to see two such charismatic actors although Pine, like in the film, is definitely the novice to Washington's master craftsman spar and then find common ground.

It's also refreshing to see Dawson play a female leader in a profession where that surely isn't the norm; she proves once again that she doesn't always need to be the stereotypical leading lady to nail a role. Families can talk about the movie's suspense. Which is scarier -- gory violence or nailbiting suspense? Which has a more lasting impact? One of the movie's themes is ageism. At first, how does Will react to Frank's age and Frank to Will's newbie status?

How does their relationship change by the end? As an unmanned train barrels through small Pennsylvania towns, a longtime rail conductor Denzel Washington and a new employee Chris Pine devise a way to stop the half-mile long train before it crashes and takes out an entire city.

Directed by Tony Scott. Young women are seen wearing tight tank tops and shorts as part of a restaurant's uniform.

A shirtless man is seen lying on a sofa, he stands up and we see him wearing underwear. A woman jokes that she does not know which of two men to kiss first, and she then kisses one of the men on the cheek. A man winks at a woman and blows her a kiss. A man tells another man that his daughters work at the restaurant Hooters, and the man blushes and says, "I support that.

A man jumps from a fast-moving train into the back of a truck bed, he winces in pain as he stands up and then leaps onto the front of a fast-moving unmanned train. A man being lowered from a helicopter onto a racing, unmanned train, smashes into the window of the train's engine car; we see his limp body being lifted back into the air and flown away as we hear a television report give a play-by-play, saying that the man appears injured we later learn he the man was injured but recovered fully.

We see television footage of a man trying to connect two trains while they are moving and he drops out of sight as grain and clouds of dust pour out of the caboose; he pulls himself up and limps to safety in the train engine room, we see his shoe crumbled and covered in blood, and another man instructs him to wrap his foot we later see the man's foot in a temporary pressure cast.

We see sparks as an unmanned train is pulled to slow down. There are some lessons too pretty unexpected like Safety First and Never giving up. There is some violence a fiery explosion killing an engineer and another's foot being impaled. Overall, great film. This title contains: Positive Messages. Teen, 15 years old Written by Jflores14 October 30, High intensity and little plot Interesting and true story film is great fir teens, but lacks heart and plot. Teen, 17 years old Written by BestPicture July 27, Fun, breezy time with Denzel and a train Filled with a lot of notable character actors, "Unstoppable's" two leads bond fairly well for the small screen time given to their development.

It's a fairly by the numbers but exciting action flick, and since it was Scott's swan song before his suicide, it's a fine tribute to his action-filled body of work.

This film is a little forgetable though. Kid, 11 years old July 7, Best thriller ever, but there is foul launguege and a refrence to hooters, not much in violence only an explosion, one death, and tradgedy in the balence the whole movie. This is a movie based on maturity and what your kid can handle.

View All Critic Reviews Oct 31, Unstoppable is the kind of film that never sounds like it's going to be very exciting but after watching it you wonder why it took so long to watch it, It's gripping and action packed from start to finish, The plot is simple so it makes it easier to just enjoy the ride, Chris Pine and Denzel Washington worked very well with each other and I wouldn't mind seeing them on screen together again soon, Probably Tony Scotts best movie before his passing and long may it be remembered for that.

Jamie C Super Reviewer. Feb 16, Tony Scott brings a true event to the big screen in the most tense and dramatic way possible. Unstoppable presents the typical-Scott-crazed direction along with a nerve-racking plot that gets you from start to finish, and not to mention Denzel and Chris' stellar duo. Eugene B Super Reviewer.
